Physical Wellness and Discipline

Approach

Sports and recreational activities are of great importance as they are an essential educational instrument for the comprehensive development of our students. Through its practice, the good use of free time is encouraged, self-esteem is strengthened, the sense of responsibility is stimulated and the practice of an adequate coexistence through the use of agreements and rules. We have repeatedly verified this development of intensive and sustained work in recent years, not only in sports, but also in academic work and art.

Precisely, these activities have allowed our students to live this experience and put into practice these values that help them perform better, respond assertively to different situations, learn to compete, understand and accept defeat, obtain victories without false pride, and of course, work as a team.

Raimondi School Field Days

The Raimondi Palio is an emulation of the famous competition that takes place every year in summer, in the city of Siena, in the Tuscany region. The Palio Race takes its name from the prize “El Palio”, from the Latin Pallium (woolen tablecloth), which was a type of very fine fabric that was preserved in the cathedral and was the symbol of prestige for the winner of the district.

Every year, our students participate in this ancient Sienese tradition, taking part in the sports competition in which each Contrada or team identifies a team through its representative animals (Eagle, Dragon, Wolf, and Panther) and its four colors (yellow, green, red, and blue), to which students belong throughout the years they stay at school,  from the first year of Elementary School to the fourth year of High School.
