Linguistic Proposal

We offer a solid background in languages, including Italian, English, Spanish, Latin and German, so that our students become global citizens with effective and multicultural communication.

Italian, English, Latin & German

Italian

The study of Italian is not limited to the acquisition of the language; the linguistic aspect is, in fact, only the tip of the iceberg of the educational and didactic proposal we offer. Italian is the vehicular language of all the disciplines that characterize the Italian curriculum, such as art, history, philosophy, literature, and even science, physics and mathematics. Students are therefore offered an exciting immersive experience in Italian culture, which is lived and deepened in all its aspects, culminating in the acquisition of linguistic competence.

Spanish

The courses developed by the Department of Spanish throughout the Raimondi school experience seek that, at each established level, students manage to perform successfully  in the effective and appropriate use of their mother tongue (in written and oral form) as well as in reflecting on their thinking and communication tools (metalinguistics).

In the literary field, we seek that our students develop aesthetic enjoyment, pleasure of discovering the poetic nature of a literary discourse and the metalanguages of aesthetic creation. It also seeks to promote their critical and pluralistic spirit, their humanistic development based on literary works and the analysis of the context of its creation, the spirit of the times represented in each literary work as a cultural production; to enrich their creativity, expression, and vision of the world from the deep dialogue with the most representative works of Universal, Hispanic and Peruvian Literature.

English

The study of the English language is fundamental in our institution. For 16 years, our students have participated in communicative activities designed by a team of teachers, many of them native speakers with extensive experience in education.

The program begins in kindergarten, starting at the age of 2, where students are first exposed to the English language. During their schooling, they obtain certifications such as the B1 Preliminary (PET) in 2nd year of Secondary School and the B2 First (FCE) in III Liceo, recognized by Cambridge International Examinations and aligned with the Common European Framework for the Development of Languages. In addition, they have extracurricular experiences that allow them to deepen their contact with the culture and language.

Latin

The study of Latin and its literature allows students to develop fundamental skills in everyday life and in the field of employment. Along with the ability to solve problems, Latin is the key to understanding history, languages, and the Western world.

Its study begins in the first year of the Scientific and Linguistic Lyceum with grammar and translation, tools that help develop memory and logic and also allow the enrichment of the lexicon in Italian and Spanish.

German

For learning the German language, methods of individualized teaching have been considered suitable for students who choose the Linguistic Liceo, such as didactic individualization and programmed teaching. This is based on the premise that each student is a unique individual with diverse learning skills.

Throughout the educational process, students achieve a high level of proficiency in German and can obtain certifications that validate their competence in the language, thus promoting comprehensive and motivating learning.
